Proximity Finance Foundation

Proximity Finance Foundation is one of BBA's business lines, focusing on consulting, audit, training and institutional support for the microfinance sector. Proximity Finance Foundation takes up the three following activities:

Institutional consultancy

Assistance to local organizations, in charge of the control and management of microfinance activities in order to professionalize the structures and methodologies which allow them to develop, supervise and manage microfinance organizations.

Training

Training of the staff working in microfinance institutions.According to the staff profile, the training will either be professional or related to the institutions' strategic and organizational management

Coaching - Audit:

Temporary accompaniment missions in the management of microfinance institutions ;

Operational audit missions of financial institutions specialized in the financing and accompaniment of small and medium sized companies

At an international level, the objectives of this business line are the following:

• Develop the professionalization of the three operational levels that structure the microfinance sector:
  • The actual microfinance institutions;
  • The institutions of professional representatives including training and management activities;
  • The supervision and monitoring institutions.
• Develop models of "guarantee funds" in collaboration with local role players and based on experience acquired in Belgium by the Participation Fund.
• Develop models of "support structures" to manage, during the launch, start-up businBesses and new entrepreneurs, even the beginners.
