About the Role

The Financial Sector Development and Financial Inclusion Support Project (PADSFI), financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), aims to strengthen the stability, depth, and inclusiveness of the financial system in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In this context, the Belgian Bankers Academy (BBA) is assisting the Project Management Unit (PMU/PADSFI) in implementing a mission to raise awareness among Congolese financial market players.


This mission includes, in particular:

the drafting of an Investor's Guide,

the establishment of a yield curve,

a training and awareness program in several cities across the country.

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, the Economist/Financial Analyst will provide technical expertise on the macroeconomic and financial aspects of the project.


He/she will be involved in designing the yield curve, analyzing the Congolese financial market, and formulating strategic recommendations aimed at strengthening market efficiency and investor confidence.


Main responsibilities:

  • Conduct a macroeconomic and financial diagnosis of the Congolese market.
  • Develop the economic and financial model for constructing the yield curve.
  • Assess the economic impacts of public policies and investments.
  • Contribute to the drafting of the Investor's Guide and the awareness-raising plan.
  • Produce the economic analyses and reports necessary for strategic decisions.
  • Participate in technical workshops and training for financial market players.
  • Support the Head of Mission in consolidating technical and financial deliverables.

Required profile

  • Master's degree (BAC+5) in Economics, Financial Engineering, Public Policy, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the financial, banking, or capital markets sectors.
  • Proven experience in economic modeling, yield curve construction, and economic impact analysis.
  • Have led at least one similar mission in the last 5 years.
  • Strong skills in statistical analysis, econometrics, and economic forecasting.
  • Good knowledge of the African economic context and emerging markets.
  • Excellent command of French, with English being an asset.

  • Analytical mind, rigor, and ability to synthesize information.
  • Ability to explain complex economic concepts to a non-specialist audience.
  • Good ability to work in a team in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Economic model and report on the yield curve.
  • Contribution to the Investor's Guide and awareness plan.
  • Analysis note on the macroeconomic outlook for the financial sector.
