Description

The project to support the development of the National SME and Craft Policy in the Republic of Congo, implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), is a key step in the national strategy for economic diversification and financial inclusion.

Its objective is to provide the country with a coherent framework, aligned with the 2022–2026 National Development Plan, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the opportunities offered by the AfCFTA. This policy will establish a clear vision, strategic priorities, and operational programs to strengthen the competitiveness, access to finance, formalization, and governance of SMEs.

The work carried out by the Belgian Bankers Academy (BBA) covers institutional, economic, and regulatory analysis of the sector, national consultation, and the drafting of the policy and its implementing texts. The process involves the Ministry of SMEs and Crafts, the UNDP, and the main players in the Congolese entrepreneurial ecosystem.
