Description

The technical assistance project for the Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) was implemented by the Belgian Bankers Academy (BBA) with funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB). Its main objective was to strengthen the institutional, financial, and operational capacities of the DBE in order to improve its effectiveness in financing development and productive investments in Ethiopia.

The mission focused on consolidating financial management systems, strengthening governance, upgrading monitoring and evaluation tools, and transferring skills to DBE staff. This assistance supported the DBE in modernizing its internal processes, structuring its key departments, and strengthening compliance with international financial management standards.

The project helped professionalize the Ethiopian public bank, improve the quality of its financial services, and strengthen its role in financing projects with high economic and social impact.
