Description
Ethiopia is embarking on a profound transformation of its financial sector to make it more open, competitive, and inclusive. This liberalization dynamic, combined with technological advances, is creating a strong demand for skilled human resources in banking, microfinance, and insurance.
In this context, the Capacity Building Services Demand and Supply Assessment project was designed to support the establishment of a National Banking and Financial Training Centre , aimed at addressing skills gaps in the sector.
The study was structured around two axes:
Demand assessment , by identifying specific training needs through surveys of 5 selected banks and 5 microfinance institutions, as well as defining key technical and behavioral skills for different levels of staff.
Supply assessment , analyzing the financial training market in Ethiopia, existing capacities and potential partnerships with local and international organizations.
This in-depth diagnosis made it possible to recommend the methods for setting up a banking and financial training academy , the key roles to be structured and the strategic partnerships to be developed to guarantee the sustainability and quality of the system.
