Description
The Tunisian Investment Fund, FTI, aims to consolidate its position as a key development finance institution in Tunisia, with a focus on underserved market segments, priority sectors and projects generating strong regional and social added value.
Under the KfW-funded programme “Financing MSMEs to Promote Employment II”, the project supporting the preparation of FTI’s five-year strategic plan was designed to provide the institution with a clear and structured roadmap aligned with national priorities for growth and economic inclusion.
The assignment included:
preparing a concept note setting out the diagnosis of Tunisia’s private equity and investment market and FTI’s role in financing the economy
organising and facilitating a national workshop bringing together public and private stakeholders from the investment sector
developing a five-year action plan covering strategic priorities, financial instruments, governance tools and regional priorities
preparing an executive summary outlining the main directions and recommendations for implementing the strategic plan
This work supports the Tunisian Government’s efforts to improve the governance of public funds, simplify investment grant procedures and strengthen the effectiveness of policies supporting MSME competitiveness.
BBA’s Role
BBA’s main responsibilities included:
Providing methodological and strategic support for the design of FTI’s five-year plan.
Assessing Tunisia’s institutional, financial and regulatory framework for private equity and investment.
Facilitating stakeholder consultation workshops and consolidating the resulting recommendations.
Developing the implementation schedule and monitoring dashboard for the action plan.
Drafting the strategic summary, including the Executive Summary.
BBA provided institutional support to FTI and was responsible for methodological quality, strategic coherence and alignment of the plan with public management and sustainable economic development standards.
