Description

The Strengthening Financial Sector Stakeholders, RIM and MFIs, Burundi project, funded by Enabel, aims to strengthen the institutional, organisational and operational capacity of Burundi’s Microfinance Institutions Network, RIM, and two selected microfinance institutions, MFIs.

The initiative contributes to the professionalisation of the microfinance sector by improving governance, resilience and institutional performance, while integrating ESG principles to support sustainable financial inclusion.

BBA’s Role

BBA’s main responsibilities include:

  • Providing methodological support for defining the selection criteria and conducting the call for expressions of interest.

  • Carrying out institutional assessments of RIM and the selected MFIs and preparing capacity-strengthening plans.

  • Integrating and monitoring ESG and governance criteria.

  • Overseeing the quality and compliance of deliverables, restitution workshops and knowledge transfer.

BBA leads the technical assistance assignment and is responsible for methodological quality, ESG oversight and compliance with Enabel’s standards.
