Description

Belgian Bankers Academy works within the consortium led by Stantec to provide secretariat services for the Sustainable Finance Advisory Hub in the following areas:

  1. Technical, Administrative and Strategic Coordination


    • Organising and monitoring activities involving the European Commission, appointed experts and national authorities.

    • Managing meetings, schedules and key milestones for the Hub.


  2. Methodological Support for Green Taxonomy Implementation


    • Preparing guidance documents and technical notes on the application of ESG criteria in the financial sector.

    • Harmonising interpretations and good practices across institutions.


  3. Stakeholder Awareness and Training


    • Designing and delivering workshops and webinars for banks, insurers, regulators and SMEs.

    • Developing training modules on the CSRD, SFDR and non-financial reporting requirements.


  4. Technical Content and Briefing Materials


    • Preparing briefing notes, case studies and position papers on sustainability issues.

    • Producing lessons learned and recommendations for DG FISMA.


  5. Stakeholder Dialogue and Facilitation


    • Facilitating thematic working groups to identify needs and help shape the development of standards.

    • Relaying stakeholder feedback to European decision-makers to support regulatory refinement.

BBA’s Role

  • Technical expertise: supporting the preparation of methodological content on green taxonomy and sustainability reporting.

  • Training and workshops: designing and delivering ESG training modules for financial sector stakeholders and SMEs.

  • Project management: coordinating the consortium’s administrative activities, monitoring budgets and ensuring compliance with deadlines.

  • Stakeholder dialogue: facilitating working groups and consolidating lessons learned.

  • Briefing materials: preparing thematic notes and recommendations for the European Commission.
